Who We Are

We are a private, Non-profit Rescue funded only by adoption donations and our own pocketbooks. We are dedicated to rehabbing and rehoming the "friends forgotten," neglected, abused, or rejected by their previous owners and former puppymill dogs . A major goal is to place each vetted, altered and healthy pet in that ONE forever home where they may live out their lives as valued family members and beloved companions. We are called upon by private individuals, other shelters and Humane Societies to take dogs that require extra surgery and/or medical care. We also work to place former puppymill dogs so they may know and enjoy the love and care of a family.

If you are looking for a Cat or Kitten, Please visit our friends at;
"National Humane Society"

Adopting a Friend

The first part of the adoption process is to complete and return an application. Before doing so, PLEASE research the breed you are interested in if you have never enjoyed one before. You could start at the following LINK:
"American Kennel Club"

If the dog listed was a neglected or abused dog-read up on possible behavioral issues and how to deal with them. A VERY good source of info is available at the PetFinder library plus the internet in general has a wealth of material available.
Consider the seriousness and lifelong commitment both emotional and financial, before you apply for a dog. Veterinarian references are checked and we do require a Home Visit by a rescue representative. An interview may then be completed with prospective adopters.

We do not normally adopt pets to be given as Gifts. However, if a pet is to be given as a Gift to someone "ALL"parties must be present at the time of the Interview and Adoption Process. We do this to protect the pets in the event that the pet recipient is unprepared to care for a new Pet.

Our Adoption Application is available at:

You may Email us at FFRA2@AOL.COM

Post adoption follow up will be completed by rescue rep to ascertain that the dog is being well cared for. AS WITH ANY REPUTABLE RESCUE, FORGOTTEN FRIENDS RESCUE RETAINS THE RIGHT TO REMOVE A DOG ADOPTED FROM US THAT HAS BEEN DEEMED ABUSED, NEGLECTED OR OTHERWISE IN DANGER IN IT'S NEW SITUATION.

PLEASE Spay or Neuter your pet!

Responsible pet owners spay or neuter their pets when they are old enough. We do not adopt to homes with unaltered pets unless otherwise approved. Altering your pet not only assures unplanned puppies but is also a health benefit for your cherished companion.

Visitor info

As we have no shelter building, visits are by appointment only for specific dog with completed and approved application. All rescued dogs are fostered in a private home in the Tampa Bay area.
